2024 Special Election

It's election season (again)! Stonewall KC is looking for fresh faces to join our leadership board. We depend on people from across our community to keep Stonewall KC a fun, inclusive space for finding friendship and building camaraderie. Please consider making an impact on KC's LGBTQ+ community by bringing your talents and passion to our board.

OPEN POSITIONS

Treasurer

  • Responsible for the organization’s financial transactions.

  • Maintain financial records for the organization, prepare a budget each season, monitor financial accounts, and be responsible for all financial transactions.

  • Conduct an annual reconciliation audit of organization accounts and provide the results of said audit to the board upon request.

Director of Operations

  • Responsible for all Sports Directors, referees, umpires, and Division Leads for each season.

  • Assist the Treasurer with accurately planning/budgeting cost for each sport.

  • Assist in identifying and securing appropriate venues for all sporting events as well as develop, publish and manage the game and event schedules for sports.

  • Supervises the current operations of the organization and is responsible for planning future leagues.

Trivia Director

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of trivia league, including scheduling trivia nights, maintaining standings, and ensuring a safe environment.

  • Acts as the final authority on rules of regulations.

  • Our 2024 trivia league will be on hold until a director is found.

  • Unless otherwise indicated, no prior experience is required to serve on the board. Fresh perspectives are essential for our organization, whether you're new to Stonewall KC or a long-time player.

  • All members of the board are volunteers. We receive no compensation for our services.

    All elected board positions serve a two-year term.

    Transition plans are in place for every role. During your onboarding process, you will meet with the outgoing board member to ensure you're in a good place to takeover responsibilities.

  • Our full board meets once every quarter. The executive team (including the treasurer and director of operations) meet every other week.

    The time commitment depends on your position and fluctuates with organization activities. But it’s important to ensure you have the capacity to carry out your responsibilities in a timely fashion.

    As a volunteer organization, we’re cognizant that our board members have many responsibilities outside of Stonewall KC.
